If you are trying to place an order with a credit/debit card (either directly on the website or through PayPal) and it is getting declined, you may see a red error message at the top of the page. It may give you an idea why your transaction is being declined. See below for tips to give you the best chance for your order to go through:
- Many card issuers will decline the first purchase attempt to protect you from fraud. If you are paying with PayPal using a credit/debit card as the funding method, your card issuer may be declining the attempt. To resolve this, call your card issuer, inform them you are trying to place an order from HIDevolution, and request that the transaction be pre-approved.
- Ensure the billing address you entered matches the one associated with your card issuer (your shipping address can still be different from your billing address). Our merchant processor uses AVS (address verification service) to verify your information.
- Our merchant processor uses 3D Secure fraud prevention technology. After pressing the "place order" button, an inline window may appear on your screen. You may be prompted to enter information you receive from your card issuer. If you are unable to get past the 3D Secure process, try placing the order from a different web browser or try placing the order using a private browsing session i.e. Chrome Incognito mode.
- The payment page may be sensitive to bad cookie or cache data in your internet browser. Try placing the order from a different web browser or try placing the order using a private browsing session i.e. Chrome Incognito mode.
- Some card issuers have a daily spending limit. You can use our internal credit system to split your payment across different methods (or to spread out your payments over a few days).
- If your shipping information is excessively long or if you have shipping instructions, do not enter everything on a single line because our merchant processor may not be able to accept the information as such. Instead, spread the information across the available 2-3 lines or enter them in the "order notes" section. For example, if your address reads "123 Main St, Be sure to require signature at time of delivery, Anytown, CA 90000", put the "Be sure to require signature at time of delivery" in the order notes section.
- If you are placing an order for services or virtual products only where you are not prompted for a shipping address, PayPal is not accepted. Please select another payment method (like credit/debit card).
