HIDevolution offers both non-conductive (traditional thermal "paste") and conductive (liquid metal) thermal interface materials (TIM) to achieve lower system temperatures than stock. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.
Gelid GC Extreme - 8.5 W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Non-Electrically Conductive, Up to 5C drop in system temperatures (sometimes more if manufacturer did a poor TIM application at the factory), Effective for 1-2 years. We recommend Gelid GC Extreme for light to medium duty usage and for those who want to perform as little maintenance as possible.
Noctua NT-H2 - Non-Electrically Conductive, Up to 5-10C drop in system temperatures (sometimes more if manufacturer did a poor TIM application at the factory), Effective for 1-2 years. Based on our testing, Noctua NT-H2 is the best non-metal thermal paste. It is made of a new fine-tuned mixture of metal oxide micro-particles for lower thermal resistance and reduced bond-line thickness. We recommend Noctua NT-H2 for medium to heavy duty usage and for those who want to perform as little maintenance as possible.
Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Liquid Metal - Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut – 73.0 W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Electrically Conductive, Up to 10C drop in system temperatures (sometimes more if manufacturer did a poor TIM application at the factory), Effective for 9-12 months. We recommend Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut for heavy CPU usage (intensive gaming sessions, heavy CPU based rendering). The effectiveness of liquid metal based TIM is shorter than Gelid GC Extreme, but is often worth it to achieve optimal system temperatures. A repaste is recommended after ~1 year for maximum effectiveness. We do not offer liquid metal on the GPU. The benefit of applying liquid metal on the GPU is limited.
Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads - Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pad – 11.0 W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Non-Electrically Conductive, Up to 3C drop in system temperatures, more if manufacturer did a poor TIM application at the factory), better heat dissipation than stock thermal pads, Effective for several years
HIDevolution is one of the pioneers of applying liquid metal based thermal interface material on laptops. Regarding your concerns regarding the safety of liquid metal thermal interface material like Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, yes applying anything metal conductive to a piece of electronic equipment has its risks, but we have a proprietary means of application and sealing it in to prevent damage. You can move and travel with the laptop without fear of damage. Also, you can rest assured that any upgrades that we perform will be covered under warranty.
